No se puede iniciar el convertidor mswrd632.wpc - Cannot start the converter mswrd632.wpc

Esta semana un usuario de los pocos que saben combinar correspondencia, me ha llamado comentándome que le aparecía el siguiente error en pantalla usando esta herramienta de Microsoft Office:

No se puede iniciar el convertidor mswrd632.wpc

Sin tener ni idea de qué se trataba, entre otras cosas porque no suelo dedicarme a la correspondencia, y tras buscar un poco por la red, he encontrado un artículo en la web de Microsoft que mostraba cómo solucionarlo y que también ofrecía una solución a través de su herramienta Microsft Fix It.

Como no me gustan mucho esta auto-soluciones, he preferido a realizar los pasos que se indican en el artículo que paso a detallar:

1. Haga clic en Inicio, en Ejecutar, escriba regedit y, a continuación, haga clic en Aceptar.

2. Busque la siguiente subclave del Registro y haga clic en ella:

Para versiones de Windows de 32 bits:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Text Converters\Import\MSWord6.wpc

Para versiones de Windows de 64 bits:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Text Converters\Import\MSWord6.wpc

3. En el menú Edición, haga clic en Eliminar.

4. Haga clic en Sí.

5. Salga del Editor del Registro.

Una vez hecho esto, sólo tenemos que cerrar sesión, volver a entrar y probar de nuevo para comprobar que todo funciona correctamente.

Last week one of my users who can mail merge asked about the following message he got using this feature:

I had no idea what it was so anfter a little searching the net,, I found an article in the Microsoft web site that shows how to fix it and also offers a solution through its Microsoft Fix It tool.

As I do not really like this self-solutions, I preferred to solve this issue following the steps listed in the article:

1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit, and then click OK.

2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:

For 32-bit versions of Windows:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Text Converters\Import\MSWord6.wpc

For 64-bit versions of Windows:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Text Converters\Import\MSWord6.wpc

3. On the Edit menu, click Delete.

4. Click Yes.

5. Exit Registry Editor.

Once you have followed this easy steps you only have to relogin and try it again to see how now it works perfectly.
