Hace ya tiempo que llegó a mis manos (gracias cachonda!) un portátil Toshiba Tecra A8, y una de las primeras cosas que hice fue formatearlo e instalarle la distro más reciente de Kubuntu LTS en su versión de 64 bits.
Desde entonces, me he preguntado cómo apagar el bluetooth (kbluetooth en la bandeja del sistema), pues no suelo utilizarlo. Después de darle muchas vueltas, y sólo de pura casualidad, conseguí apagarlo pulsando:
Fn + F8
En este portátil en esa tecla está la función de la red inalámbrica pero esta sigue funcionando y sí apaga el bluetooth. Supongo que en otros equipos habrá que sustituir F8 por la tecla en cuestión (o no, o qué se yo, la cosa es probar).Suerte!.

From that moment to few weeks ago, I tried to find a way to disable or stop the kbluetooth on the system tray because I don't usually use it.
After some time shaking my head looking for a solution and with a handful of lucky I found it. This is as easy as pressing:
Fn + F8
On this laptop, this key has printed the icon of the wireless manager, but this shortcut doesn't disable the network, but the bluetooth. I suppose that in other models of laptops the function key should be different (or not, or whatever) but now you have a clue, so just try it.
